Radio DIY is an internet radio app with a retro, physical-radio-style interface. This policy explains what data the app handles and how.
Radio DIY uses no analytics, advertising, or tracking tools, and requires no account or sign-in. The app contains no third-party tracking SDKs.
The list of radio stations, along with station names and artwork, is fetched from the open radio-browser.info directory. When you play a station, your device connects directly to that station's own streaming server (belonging to the broadcaster you're listening to, or to a radio-stream aggregator). These third-party services may see your device's IP address under their own privacy policies - the developer has no access to this traffic.
Your favorite stations, last-played station, recent searches, custom radio designs built in the editor, and display/settings preferences (LED style, clock, etc.) are stored locally on your device. None of this is sent to the developer or to any third party.
Radio DIY supports CarPlay to mirror playback controls for your favorite stations on your car's screen. No additional data is collected or shared through CarPlay. Please use CarPlay responsibly - your safety while driving comes first!
Radio DIY Premium (unlocking the radio editor, additional radio sets/cases, decorative elements, and unlimited favorites) is offered as an optional purchase or subscription, handled entirely by Apple via StoreKit. Payment and billing data is processed exclusively by Apple - the developer never has access to it.
The app keeps a temporary, in-memory log of its own activity during the current session, viewable in-app in case something goes wrong, so you can copy it and share it with the developer if you're reporting a problem. These logs are never sent automatically - they stay on your device unless you choose to copy and send them yourself (e.g. by email - available from the app's "About" menu section).
Radio DIY does not use the camera or the microphone. If you use the "Nearby stations" search, the app asks for your location (only while you're using the app, never in the background) and sends your coordinates to the open radio-browser.info directory to find stations within a radius you choose. Your location is only requested when you use this specific feature and is never sent to the developer.
The app collects no personal data on the developer's behalf, so it can be used by people of any age without additional privacy risk.
This policy may be updated occasionally. The date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision.
